By that I mean role-playing games and what they have become - including WoW.

He did indeed Steve, I have always been a huge fan of D&D based games... I even play old school D&D on Sunday nights (Basic Rules, none of that advanced rubbish) Wink

R.I.P Gary Gygax

His work and inspiration laid the foundations that shaped the fantasy
world(s) that we enjoy today.

He also wrote several novels set in the D&D world mainly surrounding one of his characters called Gord the Rogue, well worth a read if you come across one.
