I have a dilemma.
Having played WoW on and off since beta days, I have always suffered from altitus and struggled to settle on a single class, re-rolling at times. My first ever level 60 was only a few days ago, lol with my mage Swithern.
My dilemma is this, I always wanted a melee class really but
Warriors were always expected to tank, seemed to get constantly nerfed and dps wasn't always the class forte ( I know warriors can dps as fury btw now)
Rogues good dps, but the sneaking around annoyed me and yes my rogue is a combat spec
Paladins poncy and take ages to kill things
As you might have guessed by now I have tried a DK and I have to say I wish I could have rolled this class from level 1 to enjoy! I have started the same set of quests that I did with my mage in WPL and the DK strolls through them and I have yet to have any down time. Are DK's easier due to the blue starting gear compared to my mage (frost) or maybe I'm just not that good with my mage?
So I am considering swapping out my trial char to the DK, but are they due a nerf bat soon? Even so I am enjoying the class so much I am thinking of making Swithur the DK my main now. I know DK's are fotm right now and are as common as flies, but any comments would be welcomed
cheers

DKs are being nerfed soon and are op'd at present. Having said that they are great fun to play and whilst the changes will impact them I dont think it will be class breaking, more balancing. There are a lot of them at present as you say, but tbh i enjoy playing mine when i'm not playing my hunter. I did really hate the grind in the Outlands mind you to get to 70 but thats more the zones and having been through them a few times now rather than the class.
As is always with these things, play what you enjoy the most and if its 8 different lvl 60's go for it, although you'll miss some great content in Northrend
EDIT - a big plus - in Northrend armour they do look pretty cool |

DK's are over-powered.
DK's are getting a bit of a tap with the nerf bat soon.
But, I don't think DKs will suffer (from reding assorted forums) as much as some other classes have from the nerf.
DKs are amazing fun. You can spec with a pet or spec without, so you have choice of how they work. You can tank or you can DPS. DKs are very versatile, but they are also bloody annoying.
They are everywhere, it seems everyone has one and they are the most annoying farming chars after shammies.....if one moves into the hunting area leave as they just muller the place. I know, I've done it! If I was making one now he'd be pure collecting skills - skinner + one. Sheesh the amount of leather I could get for my hunter LW would be beyond belief.
Anyway I agree, if you like playing a DK then go for it. It's your game and you should put enjoyment first. You'll never be short of a group, especially after the dual spec comes in. As to the nerf, why worry......all classes are gradually being homogenised into the same thing so we'll all simply be the same Tanking hunters who heal while providing crowd control and openning lockboxes. |

I'd agree with playing what you enjoy.
Some aspects of the DK are being nerfed whilst others are being buffed but they'll still be an enjoyable class which can tank or DPS depending on what you want.
I found the same thing with my Mage. They kill reasonably quickly but, certainly until you get fairly high with good gear, you have to stop and drink quite a bit. You've also got the casting time for the spells where the DK can just wade in, muller stuff and there's no downtime. |

Well just a quickie to say thanks for accepting me into the SPS guild, glad I passed the trial Tx for the sponsor Caramon (can't spell your other monika!)
You all seem like a great bunch and have made me feel very welcome and I hope to finally join you in groups once I hit 80? I suppose.
Almost at 67 and rattling my way up the levels despite my erratic playing, but I'm enjoying taking in the view as I go.
Not sure how the new patch will slow me down, but I'll soon adapt
Cheers

No worries mate, glad your settling in nicely.
Give me a shout sometime if you want to head in to an Outlands Instance! My warrior is at 65 and it's about time I pulled my finger out and levelled him.
